Would you agree that our day to day lives have changed dramatically because of technology?

We can hardly go a day without checking email or saying the word, “Google”.

 

Why are we always an arms reach from a smart phone or iPad?

 

The basic answer to that question is this; it is just easier. Easier to research, browse, shop, learn, read and work.

 

Why does working online work for women like you and me?

Well, unlike traditional jobs, you always beat the commute, or lack thereof (mine is about 20 feet from my kitchen to my home office), you do not have to be dependent on fixed work hours, and you control your income.

You can set your income target and work accordingly. At the end, you will be paid what you expect and deserve. Also, I have discovered that I have different types of energy at different times of the day.

Although, I can adjust my preferences when the outside world demands it, I find that I am happiest and most productive when I sit down and focus when my concentration is at a peak.

 

Online jobs also offer you control over the type of tasks that you want to work. Based on your mood or temperament, you can choose your field and work on those kinds of tasks. Anything from an Entrepreneur to Virtual Assistant or Freelance Designer. The more productive you are, the more income you earn.

 

Rules for working online or from home:

 

1. Get ready for work. I follow the same morning routine as when I was going to the office. Set boundaries in order to be as productive as possible.

2. Dress up already! Being in a nice classy blouse or designer jeans reinforces my self-image and confidence even when working at home.

3. Get to work on time. 10am every day I’m at my desk and ready to work. I even refer to it as going to work, not just going to my office. Again, set those boundaries and hire child care if you need it.

4. Always go, “Home,” at the end of the day. When you’re at work, be at work. But when you go home for the evening or break for lunch, really be at home! Play with your kids. Put away the Macbook. Get some hot chocolate, relax and switch off from the working world.

Why else does working from home work for us women? It allows us to flexible, family focused and fulfilled.
